Information Shop for Young People

The Information Shop for Young People provides free, friendly and confidential information and advice to young people aged up to 25 on anything that affects your life.  The staff will either be able to help you directly or tell you the best place to get help; you do not need an appointment.  There are separate rooms for you to chat in confidence with staff at any time. We offer a wide range of information on employment and training, voluntary work, education, health, money issues, you and your rights, housing, family and personal issues and sport, leisure, travel and much more ………………


We also offer the following free and confidential drop in sessions on sexual health, general health and housing, benefits and debt:

 

 

CASHPOINT (Contraception, Advice and Sexual Health point)

• Contraception, including emergency contraception. Free condoms, pregnancy testing, general information and advice on contraception.

• Testing for, and advice on, sexually transmitted infections and any other sexual health matters.

• Wednesday 3.30 to 5.30pm and Saturday 10.00 to 12.00noon.


Chlamydia screening

• Mondays 1.00 – 4.00pm

• Postal Chlamydia kits are also available. Please call in for one during Information Shop opening hours. 

Free condoms

• Issued during Information Shop opening hours (Mon-Fri 11am-5.30pm and Saturday 10am-12 noon)



The Lad’s Room

• Information and advice for young men by a male worker, on any health issue, bullying, feeling down, relationships or whatever might be bothering you.

• Free condoms issued.

• Mondays 1.00pm - 4.00pm
 

 


Housing, Benefits, Debt advice

• Help with homelessness, landlord and tenant problems, applying for housing benefit and any other housing issues.
